Indicators of successful impact. Legislature behavior is changing to trip us up!

Indicators of successful impact. Legislature behavior is changing to trip us up!

Senator Yen games the rules this week and is proving to be an embarrassment to the Oklahoma Senate. First he published a Committee Substitute changing out the language for SB83 only a three hours notice before the Senate HHS Committee met. So much for the historical 48 hour notice. Then later in the week on Wednesday afternoon he called for a special session of the HHS Committee on Thursday morning for a single bill concerning midwives. Apparently this compromise the integrity of the Senate too much and he got called on it. A notice went out the next morning canceling this special meeting of the committee. In both cases it seems clear that Sen. Yen was attempting to avoid citizen involvement at these committee meetings showing that even he believes we can have an impact.

With this evidence of our impact let's keep going!

Invite friends to participate!

Protecting Life

HR1004 This resolution calls on the state executive and judicial branches to enforce current laws to stop abortions in Oklahoma. Considering that Governor Fallin vetoed a very good pro-life bill last year and the courts continually shut down the pro-life legislation that has passed in recent years this reprimand of sorts is fitting.

Status This resolution can be heard on the House Floor at any time but must first be place on the House Floor Agenda.

Action – Call the House Floor leader, Rep. Jon Echols ((405) 557-7354) and request that the bill be heard immediately.

Protecting our Representative Republic

HB1106 (Rep. Cleveland) – This bill basically reduces the number of voting days we have in Oklahoma. Have you seen those voting days that seem out of season and you don't hear about? Often they are on such matters as school bonds. Those who want school bonds know of the votes well in advance. Often those of us who may vote against such bonds don't seem to hear about it in time to do some research and arrange our schedules to vote. I believe this is intentional and defeats the premise of being a representative republic.

Status This bill passed in committee and can now be heard on the House Floor.

Action – Call the House Floor leader, Rep. Jon Echols ((405) 557-7354) and request that the bill be heard immediately.

Parental Rights with Vaccine Choice

Oppose SB83 (Sen. Yen) – A committee substitute was published three hours before the Senate HHS Committee met. This bill calls for a video to be watched before a person can claim the exemption. The new language might possibly hold a parent accountable for not vaccinating their child and have them forcibly removed from your home by CPS. There is a combination of bills this year that could play into this cause. Unfortunately, this new language complies with the Senate culture of compromise being a virtue.

Status – The committee substitute was published on the Senate HHS Committee agenda a short three hours before the committee met. So much for the 48 hour notice. It passed and can now be heard on the Senate Floor.

Action – Call the Senate Floor Leader, Sen. Greg Treat ((405) 521-5632) and request that he NOT put SB83 on the Senate Floor for a vote.

Final week for many bills. Several good bills will be heard this week!

Final week for many bills. Several good bills will be heard this week!

Bringing friends to the Capital this week and sit in on some committee meetings. This is a good way to show your support and recruit new people to the political activism. There is one resolution that can use a phone call.

Action – Call the House Floor leader, Rep. Jon Echols ((405) 557-7354) and request that the bill be heard immediately.

Parental Rights with Vaccine Choice

Support HB1386 (Rep. Gann) – This bill calls for the ingredients list of vaccines be made available to people before they get a vaccine shot. If the ingredients can be listed on a box of cereal when we purchase it surely the same can be done with vaccines. Right? This is all a part of Informed Consent and is important because Congress grants vaccine manufactures immunity from law suits for the vaccine injured. It's appropriate for the state of Oklahoma to protect it's citizens when the federal government will not.

http://www.oklegislature.gov/BillInfo.aspx?Bill=hb1386&Session=1700

Status This bill is scheduled to be heard on the House Appropriations and Budget Committee this Wednesday, 3:30pm in Room 206. The Chair of this committee has expressed her support.

Action – This is an excellent opportunity to introduce friends to activism by taking them to this meeting. They can see how the process works.

Protecting our Representative Republic

Status This bill is scheduled to be heard this week in the House Government Modernization Committee, Wednesday, 10:30am Room 412C.

Action – This is an excellent opportunity to introduce friends to activism by taking them to this meeting. They can see how the process works.

Protecting our Property Rights

HB2248 (Rep. Brumbaugh) – This bill reduces some of the reasons that the government can use to commandeer private property. Right now the government can take our property for almost any reason which is useful for such efforts as the United Nations Agenda 21 and your local real estate tycoon who wants to use friends in the local government to take someone else's land and give it to them (yes, this has happened).

http://www.oklegislature.gov/BillInfo.aspx?Bill=hb2248&Session=1700

Status This bill has been assigned to the County and Municipal Government Committee and will be heard this Wednesday at 9am in room 412C.

Action – Come to the Capital this Wednesday, 9am, Room 412C. There will be seating around the edge of the room for the general public. Come show your support for Rep. Brumbaugh and HB2248. Bring a friend!

Shown below are bills that will likely die this week.

Protecting Life

HB1699 (Rep. Calvey) – This bill basically shrinks the Oklahoma State Supreme Court. Why is this a Pro-Life bill? Because for years all Pro-Life legislation pass out of the capital faced a certain death in the courts.

http://www.oklegislature.gov/BillInfo.aspx?Bill=hb1699&Session=1700

Status – The Chairman of the Judiciary - Civil and Environmental Committee, Rep. Chris Kannady, who has anIndex score of 23 last year, did not put the bill on the agenda to be heard this final week. The clock is going to run out on this bill.

Action – None for now. Your call at election time.

SB817 (Sen. Silk) calls abortion what it is, murder, and calls for the prosecution of any doctor accordingly who performs this procedure.

SB732 (Sen. Dahm) – This bill makes it possible to refuse to grant a medical license to a doctor who performs an abortion.

Status – The Chairman of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee, Sen. Yen, who has an Index Score of 10, the lowest in the Senate last year, refuses to hear these pro-life bills and this is the final week they can be heard.

Action – None for now. Your call at election time.

Parental Rights with Vaccine Choice

Support SB177 (Sen. Dahm) – This bill requires school districts to notify parents of the ability to opt out of vaccines when schools communicate with them on this topic. Right now many school districts make it sound through their correspondence that vaccines are required or their kids can't attend public schools. This is simply not true.

Status This bill has been assigned to the Senate Education Committee and the Chairman, Sen. Gary Stanislawski, has not put it on the agenda to be heard this final week. This bill will soon die.

Action – None.

Oppose SB83 (Sen. Yen) – This bill would require parents to get a doctor's permission to not vaccinate their children before the attend a government school. Today a parent can request admission to a school for their children and just state that their child is not vaccinated. Any chemical injected into a child's body should only be done with the consent of the parent. Requiring a child to be vaccinated before they can attend school such as this bill does is nothing short of coercion and violate the natural law of parental rights.

Status – Even though this bill is authored by the Chairman of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee, Sen. Yen, it is not on the agenda for this final week. To add it to the agenda now would be a violation of the 48 hour required public notice. My compliments to OVHC-PAC members who have been faithfully following up on this legislation to ensure it's demise with a rally, legislator visits, phone calls, and committee meeting visits. The only possible reason for Sen. Yen to hold back his bill is that he knows he does not have the votes.

Action – Nothing this week.

Oklahoma State Sovereignty

SJR37 (Sen. Bass) – These resolution calls for a ballot to be placed up for a vote of the people to amend the Oklahoma Constitution. The amendment, if passed, would make the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution the supreme law of the land in Oklahoma and remove the language which says Oklahoma can not secede from the United States.

The resolution can be viewed at:

http://www.oklegislature.gov/BillInfo.aspx?Bill=sjr37&Session=1700

StatusThis bill has been assigned to the Senate Rules Committee.

Action – Nothing this week.

http://www.oklegislature.gov/BillInfo.aspx?Bill=sb83&Session=1700

Status – This bill has been assigned to the Senate Health and Human Services Committee. It is not on the agenda for next week likely because the folks who apparently want to use the power of government FORCE to put drugs into the arms of babies even if it is against the parent's better judgment , Vaccinate Oklahoma, https://www.facebook.com/groups/375550912624978, still need more time to get from what I understand are now FOUR lobbyists on the move to convince Senators to go along with this naked power grab against parental rights. Considering they only have 71 members on their Facebook group I am not surprised they need to hire lobbyists. The Ethics Commission reports they paid out over $6,000 to a just one of these lobbyists this last December.

Action – Nothing this week. Our time will come when it reaches the committee agenda. Being that Senator Yen is the Chair I am sure it will.

Support HB1386 (Rep. Gann) – This bill calls for the ingredients list of vaccines be made available to people before they get a vaccine shot. If the ingredients can be listed on a box of cereal when we purchase it surely the same can be done with vaccines. Right? Status This bill has been assigned to the House Appropriations and Budget Committee which is unexpected. The Chairman of this committee has verbally agreed to reassign it to the Public Health Committee.

Action – Nothing this week. Pending reassignment to the correct committee.

Protecting our Property Rights

HB2248 (Rep. Brumbaugh) – This bill reduces some of the reasons that the government can use to commandeer private property.
